The Indiana Hoosiers football program might be in a bad spot right now, but their brightest star is racking up awards as Jaylin Lucas has featured across a number of All-American teams this postseason. Lucas was perhaps the brightest spot of the season for IU football and is being rightfully rewarded for his play by a number of publications.
On today's episode of Locked on Hoosier, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) runs down the growing list of All-American honors Lucas has received this year from USA Today to Pro Football Focus and The Athletic. A number of fellow Hoosiers earned All-Big Ten honors as well, including Tiawan Mullen, Cam Jones and James Evans.
As Indiana searches for it's next starting QB in the transfer portal, it's becoming clear they can't keep up with the competition in terms of NIL. Georgia Tech transfer Jeff Sims appears to be the primary target but if IU gets in a bidding war, they will lose.
The show wraps by looking at JuCo commit Tyrik McDaniel, one of the top JuCo prospects nationally and someone that could make an instant impact in the IU secondary. The Hoosiers are also targeting a pair of edge rushers in Lloyd Summerall III and Demon Clowney in the transfer portal.
