In its third appearance in six years in the national championship game, the Indiana men's soccer team fell in heartbreaking fashion once again, losing in penalties to Syracuse. After a back-and-forth game in regulation and extra time, the Hoosiers were outdueled by the Orange in a lengthy shootout to fall at the final hurdle once again.

On today's Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) recaps a cruel finish to another IU run to the College Cup. While it's a great spectacle for the neutral fan, penalties are such a harsh and unjust way for a season to come to an end, especially in a national championship game.

Both Indiana and Syracuse controlled the game at times on Monday, but it was the Hoosiers who had control for longer. After falling behind in the first half, Herbert Endeley leveled the score late in the second half and had the Hoosiers on the brink of winning.
