HBCUs have been active in the transfer portal for years, so this isn’t something new. HBCUs represent 5 out of the top 10 most active FCS schools in the transfer portal this year, with Alabama A&M being at the top of the list. The SWAC is at the top of list for conferences. In addition to being active, they are also efficient. NCAA projects multiple transfers to be impact players for their HBCU

Alabama A&M has found their new basketball coach. After having Dylan Howard as the interim head coach for 4 years, Otis Hughley is the permanent head coach going forward. Hughley has coached Demarcus Cousins and has been a part of a camp specializing in developing big men. He is also the Nigerian National Women’s Basketball team’s head coach.
