Howard is Leaving the MEAC for the CAA, Top 20 HBCU Players to Watch in NFL Draft

Howard is prepared to leave the MEAC in favor of the CAA. They would join North Carolina A&T and Hampton, making it 3 HBCUs in that conference. As the CAA grows, the MEAC continues to fall apart. There needs to be additions made to the MEAC, and they need to be done fast. Howard’s academic reputation and athletic profile, aside from football is what made them attractive to the CAA.

The NCAA released their top 20 HBCU players to watch going into the NFL Draft. I come away from that article with 3 takeaways and a realization. There was an even split of offensive and defensive players on the list, and it doesn’t feel forced. This is a very balanced class. There aren’t many small school prospects on the list and The list was dominated by the SWAC. My realization was we’re going to have a lot of HBCU prospects in NFL camps.

TSU has found their new woman’s basketball coach in Vernette Skeete. Her road to TSU includes being a co-associate head coach, an assistant, and an head coach. She last stopped at Texas A&M where she learned under Gary Blair. She’s stopped at multiple other big time programs as well. As a head coach, she was the regional and conference coach of the year at Gulf Coast State.
