Texas Southern WBB knocks off Grambling behind a trio of 20 point scorers. Ataiya Bridges had a career night on NBATV. She scored 34 points while dishing out 7 assists and getting 3 steals. She was amazing on all fronts. Jada Perry and Andrianna Avent joined her in the 20 point club. Together they provide harmonic balance offensively.
Texas Southern men's basketball got it done behind the efforts of their 2nd unit. John Jones was on fire from 3 point range, knocking in 5 on the day. His offensive display was a huge jolt to the team's 2nd half scoring. Defensively, Brison Gresham was a beast on the inside totaling 6 blocks on the game.
After a lot of back and forth, Jackson State is back in the Southern Heritage Classic vs Tennessee State. Instead of leaving this year, they'll be leaving next year. One of the biggest problem throughout this whole ordeal was lack of communication. There's dispute about the intent of JSU, coming from the Classic founder Fred Jones side. It's best to just focus on the game's final year.
