Takeaways From Grambling Spring Game, HBCU All Star Game Was Great

Grambling State had their spring game this weekend, their first under Hue Jackson. There were 2 takeaways from this game that’s really like a practice. The defense performed better than expected, kind of, and Kajiya Hollawayne was the 3rd QB to step in.

The HBCU All Star Game had all the makings of a good event. I need anticipation, big performances, and big names. The game had all of that. The anticipation was built off of the 2 years it took to get it done. There were big performances in the game that should bring people back. Lastly, there were big names like Avery Johnson, Earl Monroe, and Penny Hardaway at the game.

Texas Southern’s band performed at Wrestlemania but how did they get there? The WWE reached out to TSU at the first four NCAA tournament. It’s unclear how much of an impact that game had on the deal getting done. This is a great example of exposure creating more exposure. Now performing in front of over 75,000 people, they were able to give thousands of people a taste of the HBCU experience.
