The MEAC showed they aren’t desperate by rejecting Chicago State’s attempt to join the conference. One would think after departures by FAMU, North Carolina A&T, Bethune Cookman, Hampton, and now potentially Howard in recent years, the MEAC would start getting desperate. They rejected Chicago State because they don’t have a football team. They refused to compromise on their demands. A desperate conference wouldn’t have stood so firm. I do think they missed an opportunity by rejecting CSU.

Aqeel Glass picked up a camp invite from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As a camp invite it’ll be a tough road, however, I believe he can make it to the practice squad. That’s a realistic ceiling for him in his first year in the league. The Tampa QB room is already pretty crowded with Tom Brady, Kyle Trask, Ryan Griffin, and Blaine Gabbert. It’s tough to see Glass taking any of those guy’s job. Maybe after a year he’ll have a better shot at making the 53 man roster. This year his best bet is the practice squad.

Grambling WR Tyson Bordeaux said in a recent interview with MTMV sports podcast network he was circling the Jackson State game on the calendar. He gave JSU all of their props for what they have done recently, but he is also excited for the challenge. This is the first time I’ve heard anybody say they are ready to go against JSU. I know many feel that way, but not many vocalize it like Bordeaux. Specifically, he is excited to line up against Travis Hunter.
