The MEAC once discussed adding PWI’s to their conference, and I hope they left that idea in the past. Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, and Hampton can all play outside of HBCU conferences without losing their identity. Adding a PWI to an HBCU conference however would take away some uniqueness from the conference for me.

We didn’t have to wait years to see the Legacy Bowl make an impact. There have been 29 HBCU prospects either drafted, signed to an UDFA contract, or received a camp invite. This number is remarkable and likely wouldn’t be this high. The top players would have had the same result, but the depth comes from events specifically catered to HBCU athletes.

Will Adams and Felix Harper just signed their deals with the Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders. Harper actually has a chance to make the active roster. It would be difficult but possible. Practice squad feels almost like a floor if he plays well. Adams is a guy who Commanders media has already said would be a good practice squad guy. I agree. His athletic traits are the type of thing to get coaches excited. A practice squad year would help with size and possibly refinement.
