Andrew Body and that offense should have their fans excited going into SWAC play; the USFL is giving HBCU players chances to play professional football. Tuskegee is demanding a public apology from Nick Saban after his comments about Jackson State.

Texas Southern should be excited going into this season in the SWAC because they have an offense led by Andrew Body. He’s the type of QB you always feel you have a chance with in any game. He’s joined in the backfield by Ladarius Owens and Jacorey Howard, both of which were efficient throughout the season. Two question marks are receiving weapons and the defense. Texas Southern fans should be excited to watch this team for the first time in years.

The USFL is great for 2 reasons: it puts more football on the team and it allows players to continue pursuing their career. The company fills the spring void of live, competitive football. Then, you have players like Calvin Ashley saying they regained their love for football in the USFL. HBCU talent starts at a disadvantage in the NFL draft cycle. This gives them another place to land

Tuskegee AD Reginald Ruffin is demanding a public apology from Nick Saban after what he said about Jackson State. He is also suggesting Alabama schedule the FCS HBCUs in the state as well. Ruffian’s next proposal involves all FBS schools in Alabama. They should all rotate playing HBCUs in the state in basketball with a guaranteed pay. Ruffian’s last big announcement was Tuskegee plans on moving to the D1 level.
