We said at the beginning of last week that it was going to be a busy 7 days for the Colorado Avalanche. Four games, three of which were two against division rivals had the Avs in a position to put some distance between them and the teams below them as well as close the gap between them and the Dallas Stars. For the most part, they did just that.

A loss to the Vancouver Canucks is not what you want to see, but two wins against division leading Dallas does make you feel good. Especially behind the fact that the Avs continue to play with a decimated roster, but are getting the most out of what they are putting out on the ice.

And Alexandar Georgiev is a top goalie in the league. It's time everyone else recognizes that.
