The Colorado Avalanche have been stuck on 116 points for the season for four games now. Three points away from setting the franchise record for most points in a season. Thanks to them losing four straight games in regulation they have yet to set that record. Sure we can say they are down key players like Mikko Rantanen, Gabriel Landeskog and Devon Towes. But the players they have now should not be losing four games in a row.
All the current Avalanche problems were on display last night in the 4-1 loss to Winnipeg. They struggled to maintain possession, they struggled with zone exits, turnovers galore and defensive to offensive transitions were ugly. And let's not even discuss the power play which for some reason has fallen off a cliff.
