The Colorado Avalanche lost their third straight game in a loss to the Edmonton Oilers, 6-3, on Friday night in Edmonton. But they might have lost a lot more thanks to a freak accident on the bench. Pavel Francouz was sitting in the backup goalie chair when a redirected puck smacked into his face.

He immediately left the bench and did not return. The next day, Avalanche prospect Justus Annunen was called up, signaling the Avs believe Francouz could be out for some time. What does this mean for the Avs, for Francouz and maybe most importantly Darcy Kuemper with the load now squarely on his shoulders?

Beyond that, the Avalanche did not look good in the game against the Oilers. On the defensive side in particular. Sure we can keep saying the Avalanche are down key guys, but we also have to keep saying the guys they do have playing should still be winning them games. Plus you don't want to head into the postseason losing games and playing the way they are.

Can the Avs get back in the W column on Sunday against Winnipeg? Chris and Kyle break it all down!
