You never want to see the officials involve themselves so much in the game that it effects the outcome. And 99% of the time they don't. Every so often, they do and that was the case last night for the Colorado Avalanche against the Nashville Predators.
It was a hard fought game. An enjoyable game. The Avs had to fight back yet again and regulation time wasn't enough to determine a winner. In overtime, both teams were gaining opportunities. Then, the Avs were called for too many men on the ice. Upon further review, not only was it a bad call, but the refs got the wrong team. Nashville, in their mustard yellow uniforms, can be seen with easily five guys on the ice. Which we know in OT is two too many. But the call stood, the Preds went on the power play, and the rest is history.
