Nathan MacKinnon is without question a top talent in the NHL. But he can't seem to crack the #1 spot which is held firmly by Edmonton's Connor McDavid. However, with McDavid and the Oilers continuing to struggle in the postseason, and with MacKinnon playing his best hockey in the postseason, does this open the door for MacKinnon to come in and take the throne as the best player in the league? If Nathan MacKinnon wins a Stanley Cup before Connor McDavid, does that change the discussion?

In the second segment, Nazem Kadri has decided to appeal his eight game suspension. With NHL commissioner Gary Bettman be the one who will decide if his suspension is reduced or not, does it matter in the long run for the Avalanche going forward? Do they Avs want to risk future playoff runs with Kadri knowing that one more hit like that and they won't have his services probably for an entire postseason, especially when he is such a big part of how they play?

Finally, the Avs are getting some much needed rest with the Minnesota Wild pushing the Vegas Golden Knights. This poses a difficult question for Avalanche fans. Root for the Wild so you can play your division rival, or root for the better team so you can say you faced and (hopefully) beat one of the leagues best?
