Devan Dubnyk might have gotten the start last night against the St. Louis Blues anyway. But when word came out the the Avs player who had a positive COVID test was Philipp Grubauer, it was a done deal. So despite some Avalanche fans not being thrilled with Dubnyk as their teams backup, Avs fans need to get comfortable with Dubnyk running the show for the next couple weeks while Grubauer goes through the leagues COVID protocol.

And in his first game, Dubnyk did what a back up goalie should do, didn't lose the game. The Avalanche had a masterful second period, per usual it seems, but did everything they could to hold on while St. Louis did everything they could to force OT.
