Could You Ask For a Better Start? Avalanche Blow Out Predators, 7-2. Take Early 1-0 Series Lead

The Colorado Avalanche have been waiting for this moment since last year's playoff exit. It may only be one game, but getting off to a fast start was exactly what the Avalanched wanted and it is exactly what they got. Just a couple minutes into the game Nathan MacKinnon found his first of two goals, then 22 seconds later Devon Toews found the net and the Avs were off to the races.

We had discussed on yesterday's episode who would be the odd men out now that most of the Avalanche roster was healthy. We had an idea Logon O'Connor might be one of those guys, we did not expect Alex Newhook to be the other one. Coach Jared Bednar seemed to favor experience with players like Darren Helm and Andrew Cogliano for Game 1, and his instinct paid off.
