Here we are again. The Colorado Avalanche finished their game Thursday night against the Nashville Predators, and then found out the next day their season would be put on hold until at least December 27th, meaning the Avs will have to make up the four games they would have played during that time.

The NHL implemented new standards in an attempt to deal with limiting the number of positive cases, but is that a battle that cannot be won? Is the league trying to just plug holes whenever one pops up, or should they be more proactive in just shutting the league down now before it gets worse?
