Perhaps more so than ever before, the culture of the local government sector across the country is under the microscope.
With Council elections coming up in two states before the end of this year, and a wide ranging cultural review under way in Victoria, the Roundup takes a closer look at efforts to draw a line in the sand, and set expectations and standards for respectful and appropriate behaviour at the third level of government in our nation.
This Roundup Extra features Cr Kylie Spears, Victorian President of the Australian Local Government Women's Association, on a call to have Council candidates pledge respectful behaviour, and call out poor behaviour when they see it.
