In a world that determines the value of a person based on appearance, Terra exposes the subtle lies we’ve bought into regarding our body image, relationship with food, exercise and our emotions. In today’s episode, following Dr. Rhona’s episodes on food addiction, Terra shares her own story with her battle with bulimia as a teen. Her journey as a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor has led her to understand more of her own healing journey as she has walked with hundreds of men, women and teens over the years who have had similar struggles. At the root of all body image issues, Terra says, is a struggle to deal with and process our EMOTIONS.

Through the lens of trauma-informed neurobiology and healthy spiritual formation, she wrote the book Courageous: Being Daughter’s Rooted in Grace and co-authored Shrinking the Integrity Gap: Between What Leaders Preach and Live with her husband, Jeff. Jeff and Terra are the co-founders/owners of Living Wholehearted and Courageous Girls. Jeff and Terra are the weekly hosts of the Living Wholehearted Podcast. Listen in for more insights into your own relationship with your body and how to help those you love, children, friends, and spouses find healing, compassion, and hope.

Now an executive coach, author, and national speaker, Terra is integrating her years as a therapist in helping executive leaders address the many issues keeping them from living with integrity, working from a grace-based trauma-informed foundation.
