We are back with Instagram's favorite writer and therapist Lisa Olivera! You probably know Lisa thanks to the little beams of light and relief she sends into our feeds every day. Lisa is such a smart, gentle and generous heart who seems almost magically in tune with the zeitgeist, sharing daily messages of support with her IG community that somehow address exactly what we're going through.

In this episode we talk about Lisa's path to becoming a therapist and writer, the importance of witnessing the process, the sometimes frustrating non-linear nature of healing, getting in touch with our passions, giving yourself permission to let small things be meaningful, how to support friends through hard times, tackling co-dependency, and how to show up in the in between times.

Lisa Olivera is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and writer who is passionate about bringing the ideas and tools of therapy out of the office and into the real world. She believes we require less fixing and more accepting – less perfectionism and more good-enough – less criticism and more self-compassion.

In her practice, Lisa supports people who want to find more acceptance in who they are but feel overwhelmed by self-criticism, doubt, sadness, anxiety, transition, or fear. Through holistic and integrative practices, she helps clients create more compassion for themselves, more capacity to feel the hard stuff, and more understanding of how to manage the stressors and impacts of our history, our environment, and our daily life. Lisa lives and loves in Oakland, CA.
