Asking one simple question completely changed the trajectory of Jordan Harbingers life.


When Jordan was just an intern still attending law school he went to coffee with the top partner at his law firm. This particular lawyer had a reputation for never being in the office. But despite spending all his time playing golf and schmoozing clients, he still somehow made more money than all the other partners.


Jordan couldn’t resist the urge to find out what made this guy so special that he could make his own rules. So he asks him flat out:




“How come everyone says you make more money, but you’re never in the office?”


The lawyer explained, What I do is more important than everyone else. I’m playing golf, attending charity events, and buying dinner. What I’m really doing though is bringing in business, and I bring in more than anyone else.


That’s when Jordan had the lightbulb moment: All the work that goes into mastering the technical skills of becoming a lawyer are really secondary to learning people skills that ultimately determine your success level.


That lesson (among many others) fueled Jordan’s interest in non-verbal communication and starting The Art of Charm.
