There are times in life when you must stand for what you believe. It does not matter if it is a great political cause, or you are just tired of being sick and tired.

When I found a newspaper article  in the basement of my about my father's involvment in the civil rights movement, I realized there was more to this man than the person I knew who showed up at my sporting events and musical recitals.

I learned later the profound impact he had on a system of injustice and how one person can make a difference if that one person is part of a great collective. His abililty to create change by civil 'disobedience' fuels me daily.

Today we explore a great lesson in American history with someone who has lived it.
