I'm a really lucky guy. I literally get to sit down and talk about mental health with some of the most interesting people I've ever met. I love every second of it and this week is no exception. Sometimes it can be hard standing out in a crowd, but especially when you're a woman and the crowd in question is a university football locker room. Reina Iizuka is the first woman to ever play men's tackle football in Canada at the university level and her story is one that needs to be heard more. From being called out by teammates to being featured on news outlets like TSN's, Reina's mental landscape has played a massive role in her life, especially over the past four years. In this episode, Reina and I talk about internal and external doubt, dealing with expectations, and also the self-imposed limitations we sometimes set for ourselves to avoid drawing attention away from things we care about. It's a great interview with an even better person, so kick back and relax because, at the end of the day, we're all just a bunch of wrecks.
