"We would go every couple of days and work on the nurses because they were working sometimes 16, 17 hours a day. People were just flooding into the hospitals and the hospices. The doctors and nurses were exhausted, so the main thing I thought would be best to do would be to get them calm because they were constantly operating on people, constantly trying to figure out what to do. One place was called the Lynn House which was very popular in West Hollywood. They built it specifically for people with AIDS. And so the doctors found out that they became calm, and their work became easier. They said, if that can do that to the patients, we'll let you in. So we were the first people to ever get into the hospitals and hospices. And that was a big deal."
