According to the
National Education Association, 94%
of educators feel that their school districts are not providing all the
necessary resources for student engagement, comfort, and readiness to learn. With his 15 years of teaching experience
and a background in mental health and human resources, this is where Mills
Rodgers steps in. He is dedicated to empowering educators and leaders to
create equitable and inclusive learning and working environments. As a
consultant, speaker, and author at Rodgers Speaks, he delivers engaging and
impactful presentations and workshops on topics such as championing and
supporting all students, developing a growth mindset, and building
relationships with parents and stakeholders, thereby making a significant
impact on the education system.

Rodgers
also provides coaching and guidance on personal branding, character, and
leadership to individuals and organizations that want to achieve their personal
and professional goals. He draws from his own experiences as an educator, a
veteran, and a lifelong learner, as well as his certifications in
principalship, generalist, and special education. He authored the book series
"Success Is A Process, Not An Event," which shares insights and tips
on education, character, and personal development. Prior to his current
profession, Rodgers held several positions in various schools, such as special
education teacher, general education science teacher, science instructional
coach, academic instructional coach, administrative intern, and substitute
assistant principal.

During
his time in the US Army, Rodgers served as a mental health NCO, a role that is
equivalent to a civilian counselor. As a parent to his oldest daughter, who has
moderate to severe autism, he has firsthand experience of the unique challenges
faced by families with special needs children. Rodgers believes that these
challenges are often overlooked by educators and the public, which is why he is
passionate about creating awareness and sharing his insights. His work is
focused on addressing these overlooked challenges and advocating for a more
inclusive and understanding education system.
