Onsite at the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education, covering TCT Site Selection. This is expected to be an intense meeting as the Board of Education votes on the site for the new Center for Technology. The Old Westlawn Middle School has emerged to be the best location to meet the 10 acre requirement and at a lesser cost. The location in West Tuscaloosa is apparently a problem for the white students who currently make up 22% of the TC student population. 73% of the students currently attending TCS are black, and 3% other. Adding to the smoldering fire are reports of secret meetings to find another site; and rumors about TCSS employees making racially charge statements against the community where Old Westlawn Middle School is located; and emails and phone calls asking white parents and students to voice their objections to locating TCT in West Tuscaloosa.

The surface argument is about distance and travel time. The white students favor the Tuscaloosa Magnet School Site over Old WMS. The miles difference in the sites for all schools are less than 2 miles. Time difference is 3 minutes for Northridge and Bryant, 1 minutes for Central students.
