We're welcoming the new year with shame!! Enter our newest theme, Excuse me, WHAT?! Films we just CAN'T BELIEVE you haven't seen. And we're starting with one of our WHITE WHALES, the 1988 classic romantic BUSINESS WOMAN COMEDY, Working Girl. This is the one movie that started the whole podcast idea, and a film Graham holds so dear to his heart that he was terrified of showing it to Ashley and Katie. Starring the gorgeous Melanie Griffith, the delicious Harrison Ford, a pitch-perfect-bitch Sigourney Weaver, and the ethereal Joan Cusack, this film follows Staten Islander Tess McGill as works her way through lethal, 1980s Wall Street...aiming to be more than "just a secretary." When her seemingly supportive boss breaks her leg on a ski trip, Tess discovers her superior was aiming to undercut her talent and steal her idea for a deal. So Tes cons her way into a meeting with the lovely Jack Trainer to make an even lovelier partnership, both on and off the trading floor. Directed by Mike Nichols, this was truly enjoyable for everyone...so while your favorite podcasters might not be steak, you CAN order this podcast right into your ears! We also talk a bit about our favorite new media over the holiday break and have some excellent recs. Just let us know if we can get you anything...coffee, tea, me?
