Water. It is essential for life. But it is also essential for CINEMATIC CHAOS in the Kevin Costner H20 vehicle, the 1995 KING OF ALL FLOPS, Waterworld. Ashley introduces your favorite podcasters to the mother of all aquatic calamities...starring the world's most notorious gill-ed mut-o, Kevin Costner as The Mariner. A man who is truly an island, he sails the oceans of Earth -- a planet long since submerged when its polar ice caps melted -- in search of...more isolation. Until he meets a woman (Jeanne Tripplehorn...hello, The Firm or Basic Instinct) and her ward (Napoleon Dynamite's own Tina Majorino), the latter of which has a tattoo on her back rumored to be the map to DRY LAND. In hot pursuit (and we mean that in the literal sense) and fueled by cigarettes (also in the literal sense) is the film's savior...or rather, lead villain, Dennis Hopper (listen, if you don't know who Dennis Hopper is that's your problem) who runs his team of Smokers with three goals in mind...get the child, find dry land, and pillage!! This film is too much and not enough all at once, and with only ONE MONSTER in the entire movie, Katie, Graham and Ashley are left...well, quite dry.
