The launch of the Beta X hub was an opportunity for people working across the design and creative industries in Leicester to get together and share their ideas for a sustainable future. Beta X is part of the Leicester Heritage Action Zone project, working with Leicester City Council, LCB Depot and De Montfort University. BETA X, a two-month programme of engaging events around sustainable design, making and cultural performance, and provides a space for conversations and discussions that enable people from all communities in Leicester to imagine the future.

Sharing their experiences and ideas were Sir Peter Soulsby, Leicester’s City Mayor, Professor Christine White from De Montfort University, James Burkmar from LCB Depot, Sean Carroll from Inspirate, Sean Clark a Leicester-based Digital Artist, Sophie Noon from the Leicester City Council Heritage Action team, and Yasin El Ashrafi from HQ Recordings.
