In episode 02 of the Legacy Purse: Probate: The Inheritance Process, we shared that when a loved one dies and leaves a last will and testament, the probate process is a legal procedure for a judge to validate the will before any of the loved one's instructions can be carried out. But what is the history of this practice? Why does someone's last will require such a public, strict, court process that anyone can find out about? And how did we get here?

In this episode of the Legacy Purse, Leslie Sultan sits down with one of San Francisco’s few Personal Family Lawyer®, Yaasha Sabba, and they break down the history of probate and why this archaic process still exists. Yaasha explains that probate is a "Lawsuit that you file against yourself on behalf of your creditors and is paid for by your estate."

Leslie Sultan is an Estate Planning Attorney and the host of the Legacy Purse Podcast. She is known for talking about topics that show YOU how to protect your family, assets, generational wealth, and legacy.
