We learn of her current role as President at EVC, located in the Evergreen district of East San Jose, and her hopes for the future of California’s community colleges. Additionally, President Gilkerson discusses her role as Co-Chair on the Affordability, Food & Housing Access Taskforce and work the taskforce has done in raising awareness regarding students’ basic needs and addressing food, housing and transportation insecurities that affect CCC students.
