Originally from Poland, Eva Maria studied law and economics both in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium before starting her career as an attorney at Baker McKenzie in 2003. She was moved to Baker McKenzie's Zurich office in March 2007 for a “brief exchange” but is still there today and perceives herself as a "European" citizen! Eva-Maria became a partner in 2015 and leads Baker McKenzie’s Swiss Intellectual Property practice group. She is admitted to the bars in Switzerland and Germany and specializes in consumer goods, particularly luxury products such as jewelry and watches, though she also has experience in sectors such as foods/agriculture and pharmaceuticals.

Eva-Maria has a son - 11 years old and in the midst of puberty - and is a founding member of an association which supports projects to improve reading and learning skills and motivation of children and young people from educationally disadvantaged families. The association collects donations (books) from exhibitors of the famous Frankfurt Book Fair and distributes them to schools in socially weak neighborhoods which want to expand their library collection and motivate children to read more. Apart from this engagement, Eva-Maria loves travelling - and on weekends spends many hours organizing trips to exotic countries like Myanmar or Cambodia and researching how she can best explore hidden places off the beaten tracks.
