On today’s show, we learn about gambling and how it slowly manifested within me until it eventually became an addiction. It all began when I was in senior school, such that whenever we would go to the arcade with my friends, I would often spend my money on the fruit machines. The visits to the arcade became frequent to the point I spent all my paper money to depletion and started selling my parents' collector records to refill my pockets ready for gambling.

The power of gambling and addiction drove me to do crazy things, such as taking money from my mum's purse to spend on fruit machines and getting into an overdraft with the banks and stores to satisfy the gambling adrenaline. I later realised that loneliness, low self-esteem, and bad company were the causes of my eternal thirst for gambling.

Chloe, my wife, detected that I had a problem since I would quickly lose 100 pounds, which was meant for savings, in 15 minutes, and it's at that point she decided to take me to Gamblers Anonymous. Here, I resonated with someone's story, which was a path that I was on the verge of being on, and I decided to be on a different path.

It wasn't as easy to quit since I fell into remission severally, but Chloe became the robust support system that I needed which led to me dropping all bad habits and embracing laughter as my adrenaline spike.
