The Moab Area Travel Council is well known for their first responsibility – promoting and encouraging local tourism to strengthen Grand County’s economic base. On a typical year, they do this through a variety of means, the most forward-facing being marketing and advertising. But this year is anything but typical. Today on the news we speak with executive director Elaine Gizler about a likely future without an advertising budget, as well as the travel council’s role communicating local safety measures to visitors. Plus, we hear an interview with Intermountain Health Care's Medical Director for Infection Prevention, who says wearing a face covering is both an act of prevention and a sign of respect for other people.
