Exactly two weeks ago, Moab City announced a second round of furloughs and reductions to their staff. These layoffs take effect today, June 4th, and hit all city departments. Today on the news, we check in with city manager Joel Linares, who says the municipality’s tough financial situation started long before coronavirus. And later, Grand County Search and Rescue reports Left Hand Canyon as the most dangerous local destination right now. Plus, it’s Black Birders Week, an online event encouraging the inclusion of Black people in science and nature communities.
