Community criticism of a downtown parking structure has cast uncertainty on the future of the multi-million dollar project. In a meeting Tuesday, city council member Karen Guzman Newton requested her fellow council members support terminating Moab City’s cooperative agreement with UDOT, and focus instead on regional transit. Reactions from elected officials were mixed – questions were raised over contractual obligations, Moab’s reputation, and the need for a community-backed solution.
