Historically, scientists have believed that wildfire impacts watersheds by creating a waxy soil surface in which infiltration becomes minimal. However, new studies are revealing that the root cause of fire-related water issues may be entirely different. KVMR’s Paul Emery and hydrogeologist Steve Baker explore that and more in the latest edition of Water News. It’s been hot in California, and one hundred lawmakers, including state representatives, are calling for new heat illness protections for workers.
