After two days of hearings and public comment on the reopening of the Idaho Maryland Mine, the Nevada County Planning Commission voted unanimously at about 4:30 this afternoon to deny the certification of the project’s Final Environmental Impact Report and the application to reopen. The recommendation and application will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors, which will make the final decision. The board will hear the matter no sooner than August of this year to consider the recommendation and all public and agency comments received during the application process.
