Here in Nevada County sand is available in 4 locations: next to the Nevada County Warehouse on the corner of Highway 49 and East Broad Street in Nevada City, at the Penn Valley Fire Protection District on Spenceville Road in Penn Valley, on the ridge at the North San Juan Community Hall on Reservoir Street, and at the Higgins Fire Department on Combie Road. Residents will need to bring their own bags and shovels. Bags are available at local hardware stores.
