Cool Science Radio welcomes guest Dr. Holly Gilbert who is the Director of the Heliophysics Science Division, Chief of the Solar Physics Laboratory and the NASA Deputy Project Scientist for the Solar Orbiter, a spacecraft that launched Sunday, February 9, and is on its way to the sun. It will study the electromagnetic characteristics of the solar wind, enabling them to tackle mysteries such as the 11-year cycle of solar activity, the generation of the Sun’s magnetic field and how solar wind particles are accelerated to high energies.
