Previous Episode: Columbia

You know when a father always has to give the son the job well the son Dayne hultman has taken over! Alright well to get things started off we went to the Kansas City zoo. The funniest thing was the polar bear but i wish i had some footage but my dad does. The red panda was a cool thing because we dont have red pandas back in Brookfield.

The other cool thing was when we saw the newly discovered tree kangaroo the new speices found under a volcano with a bunch of other species. Here is a picture of one. this was a female while we saw a male in a tree. These guys are Matchies tree kangaroos.

What loud squakers these macaws are! These mcaws kept on squaking and it just hurt my ear with those high pithched voices. I hope the neighbors below them don't get pestified by the noise. The Radiated tortiose below was i bet having no trouble hearing it because it has no ____ (what? Answer on bottom).
Next we saw the king of all rodents the capybara, a large rodent. It weighs about 100 pounds or more and there were 2 of them. A male and a female and could tell the difference by their fur. In the same habitat I saw a amazing animal and i thought that they never existed. A prehensile tailed porcupine! I never knew that a porcupine could climb or have a tail. Here on the left is male and right is female.

Ok so you probably heard of of leopard running very fast and turtles run sloooooooow. Well this little fella ran a lot fast but not that fast. This is a leopard tortise who when we got there was on the move! he was just on the move walking around his area with his bros and sisters and mom. In the left we got him in the middle of the yard and a couple minutes later hes right in front of me and still scampering!
.Now for the next part... chimps our harry like selves with a thumb on their feet! These guys had a huge enclosure but for only 5 or 7 chimps but these guys can climb so the keepers put trees in the exhibit and we found one in the trees. there was one leader in one part where when one chimp went 2 others followed him and they all can up to the glass. But after a while they left following the leader. Come gone. The next animal was so cute! A new rhino baby was sucking on its moms milk. But when we all got there it was done and the mom went away and some train sound scared it away back to its mom. All it had was a little knub instead of a horn.Next we saw the lions exhibit and saw four female lions rubbed up against the glass just resting there. Dad said that there had to be a male because a male controlled a pack of 3 or more females. We saw him rest over in the shade. when we were looking at meerkats we heard a roar! For the time being we thought that it was just a recording but when we stayed a while  the male got up and roared!! How cool is that! I didnt get a recording but my dad did.

The next thing i saw was a red ruffed lemur  a species from the madagascar island. We saw 2 in the exhibit and one of them moved over to join the other man resting in a little tree stump.
The next one we saw was a warthog and wild snake! We saw him in the brush and just happened to cross our path and didnt know if he was venomous or not and dad got him. { His picture not the real deal}. The warthog had a little pen and water and a little like house made of sticks. Hope the big bad wolf didn't stroll by. He stayed in there the whole time we were at his pen.
The last animal i am going to talk about is the Cheetah. Never play a game with him, ever. There were three cheetahs but took off after a while thanks to the train horn. One of the cheetahs came up close to the glass and had a little bit of a routine and went back to the other two who were in the safety of a shady tree. I got a couple pics of the walking cheetah and here is one of them.
All right well my time here is up and now i must go. But remember that... always take over your dads job a couple of times like when he is not around so goodbye and goodnight folks. { answer to turtle question ears is the answer}.
