Many of us over the last two years have asked ourselves these questions, “do I need to be bound to one place?” “How can I truly make an impact on this world?” “How can I better connect with others in a time of increasing disconnection?” “How can I better care for my mental health?”

My guest on this episode of the Knowledge Alchemy podcast is Amanda Bender. Amanda is the Co-founder and CEO of Kilo – a mental fitness app for men. She has a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and over 20 years of working in psychology, neuroscience, and technology.

Amanda spent much of her time working at The Green Lab, part of the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences as the supervising recruiter for patients with psychotic and mood disorders. She also taught undergraduate psychology courses and led skills training groups for randomized clinical trials that improved social cognition.

Currently living on the volcanic Lake Atitlán in Guatemala, Amanda blends her love of beauty and nature with her commitment to making a positive impact on people’s mental health. She is a down-to-earth delight on a mission to break the paradigm and bring more love into the world.
