SPOILER WARNING!  Spoilers for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD 1×01 :”Pilot” from 45:29 to 1:05:24.

In this supersized episode, Karen and Maggie have both been sucked into fandoms that are going to destroy them, so there’s that.  There’s also the run-down of how the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters’ Fair went, which was…interesting.  Not that that kept your hosts from making some purchases of course!  They also got to go to a local fibre mill and farm and got to see alpacas (and a sheep that thinks it’s an alpaca).  SO CUTE.   They also have some updates on current projects (namely Maggie’s cowl for the husband and Karen’s sweater and Weeping Angels socks) including discussion of what they’re knitting for this year’s Hobbitalong, which has officially started!   For the record, Karen’s knitting the Eyjafjallajökull Shawl.  Also, Karen’s Mom went on vacation and bought her yarn, so Karen’s not the only one feeding her stash.

In Geek Squee, OMG NEW HARRY POTTER WIZARDING WORLD MOVIE.  Needless to say, we’re all over that and there’s a fair bit of speculation that ensues.  There’s also another geek actor that’s recently appeared on Sesame Street that we’re geeking out over, and a person-shaped rock that has geeks all a-twitter due to its (very vague) resemblance to a certain smuggler encased in carbonite.   There’s also a fan-modified poster turning our favourite female Asgardian warrior into Wonder Woman.  WANT THAT MOVIE, DC.

But it doesn’t stop there as we also have our reaction to the pilot episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD as well as some calming reaction to an item of Sherlockian news you make have seen recently.  Apologies if there are some weird edits in this bit and a couple things may not be crystal clear–some major edits had to take place to cut down on the blathering.

No Cravings, Covets and Crushes this week, because there’s enough new yarn talk at the beginning of the episode.

The Hobbitalong Part 2: The Desolation of Swatch has begun!  There’s no required pattern or yarn, just the goal of completing a project of your choice before The Hobbit Part 2: The Desolation of Smaug opens in theatres on December 13th.  Feel free to post progress and pictures here on the blog, or chat about your projects in the thread over on the Ravelry group!
