We feel we should add before starting that despite our opening, neither of us was the fangirl that called a certain actor’s hotel room at three in the morning.  Really.  Anyway, knitting!

Maggie is almost done her Lush cardigan!  Hooray!  And it’s good timing because she wants to wear it to the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters’ Fair, which was a week away at the time of recording.  She’s also finished the Elfling’s stocking cap, though perhaps not quite to the way she’d originally planned.  She’s also working on some socks, so she is so not monogamous Maggie anymore.  Karen’s working on the Pointelle socks and is nearly done, and of course she has a couple other pairs of socks and the Inara sweater (aka the sportweight sweater of doom) on the go, because this is Karen we’re talking about.  And both of your hosts are preparing for the upcoming Hobbitalong–stay tuned for more details!

In Geek Squee, Karen went to Fan Expo in Toronto and managed to get into the Nathan Fillion Q&A panel!  There was also a LOT of people. Lots. Of. People.  There’s also some things we’ve seen around the internet from Dragon*Con, which sadly neither of your hosts was able to go to.  There’s also news about a certain British actor with fabulous hair that has been at the Toronto International Film Festival, and who has been replaced with another of Tumblr’s favourite actors in an upcoming film, as well as a geek-god actor who will be tackling Sherlock Holmes, and a geek-god science tv host that will be Dancing With The Stars this season.   There’s also been a seriously badass woman doing long-distance swimming despite the possibility of becoming a shark snack, and the possibility of some more fictional badass women on the big screen.

In Cravings, Covets and Crushes, we have an addition to the Lego cast of characters that is making us happy and some geeky additions you could make to your Christmas tree this season, or hang from your car rear-view mirror or something.  We won’t judge.

We have an events thread in the Ravelry group!  Organize meetups and chats or let people know about events happening in your area.  There will probably be an announcement about an Agents of SHIELD premiere watch-along in there soonish.

Want to share your thoughts on the movies/tv/science geekery we’ve discussed, or found something geeky to share? Comment here at the blog, email us at [email protected] or participate in the thread on our Ravelry group!  Want to know when new episodes go live or see the occasional bit of news?  Check out our Twitter feed (@knit1geek2)!  And as always, we have merch in our Zazzle.com and Zazzle.ca stores.
