Total Commitment -

January 24, 2016 00:00 - 1.4 KB

The Gospel calls its recipients into a new life with God, pleasing him and serving others. In this passage Paul teaches that the calling on every Christian is to “conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel”, and that by the Spirit’s help we’re enabled to live that way.

Total Focus -

January 10, 2016 00:00 - 1.4 KB

Paul makes three crazy-seeming statements in Philippians 1:12–26, which only make sense if we understand his total focus on the gospel. God wants us to see things the same way.

Simply Time -

December 13, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

The Christmas story, like the whole of the Bible, shows us that God is in charge of time. This frees us from seeing time as a tyrant and we can instead use it as a tool. Luke gives four ways we can do this.

We can see family gatherings as something to be put up with, or a great opportunity to bring grace to people that you’re connected to.

Simply Friendship -

November 29, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

Christmas is a time that focuses our attention on what matters. Friendship is a key ingredient of what makes us tick as human beings. This message aims to help us evaluate the simplicity of what friendship is.

Rediscovering purpose -

November 22, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

Why had Nehemiah gone to so much trouble to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls? We get the answer here in a vision of God’s purpose for His people: “the joy of Jerusalem was heard far away.” This is what God has called us all to do, declare His greatness to the world.

Rediscovering the way it’s meant to be -

November 08, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

We can all identify with the experience of rediscovering something that we’d forgotten about or lost. Often times that brings with it an emotional response. In chapter 8 of Nehemiah we read about 4 rediscoveries that the people of Israel made, producing a strong emotional response of public weeping! When God works with us he does it at the very deepest level, including our emotions.

Tents, olive branches, and living waters -

November 08, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

In this episode, Nehemiah and the Jews celebrate the feast of booths, remembering God’s goodness. But this was never meant to be mere nostalgia, and one day Jesus would give it a whole new meaning.

Trusting God under Fire -

October 18, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

Get In God’s Team -

October 11, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

Great things are accomplished through team. Nehemiah realised that to get God’s mission accomplished, he needed more than a heart, more than promises they he prayed about fervently. He needed other people.

Getting God’s Promises -

September 20, 2015 00:00 - 1.4 KB

Nehemiah was deeply rooted in the promises of God. This meant that when he received terrible news he was able to respond with a prayer packed full of promises. God wants us to be able to do the same.
