Whenever the "based on a true story" text comes onscreen at the start of a film, I usually always question how true it is, or how how close to the truth it stayed.  Yes, the truth isn't always entertaining, and entertainment is rarely historically accurate, but I feel American Animals is different.

It's a docu-drama / crime movie in one, but its really original in that, not only are the original protagonists in the film, there are scenes where the actors interact with their real life characters.  It uses some great 4th wall stuff to question events, places, people, ect ect.

I had this on a "to watch" list for ages. Listen in to see if I actually enjoyed it.
