In this episode of Keep Moving Forward I interview CEO of the Run Gum Company, and retired USA Track and Field 800-meter Olympian, Nick Symmonds.

“Finish what you start.” A few months ago I had the privilege of speaking with Olympian Nick Symmonds about his illustrious career on the track and how his degree in biochemistry paired with his athletic background prepared him to create his own company, Run Gum. This entrepreneurial athlete recently made his exit from the world of track and field and hung up his spikes to take over the full time role of CEO of Run Gum. Nick always knew that running was going to end one day, so he intelligently prepared himself for that time before it even came. This week, I had the chance to follow back up with him and see what he is doing in his new role at Run Gum. Though Nick has retired as an 800-meter runner, he is planning one last race in Hawaii this December, though it is at a distance you might not expect. For today’s episode I will take you on a little recap of Nick’s journey, flashing back to episode 41 at the start and then concluding with mine and Nick’s most recent conversation. In so doing, I know that you will see and come to appreciate how well this incredible athlete and businessman holds true to his belief of always finishing what you start.
