On November 14th, 2022, academic workers across the University of California began a six-week long strike that eventually involved around 48,000 people and culminated with benefits for the workers like wage increases. Now, one year later, one of the unions involved is calling on UCSB to honor their contract. KCSB’s Joyce Chi attended UAW 2865’s anniversary rally and spoke to a union organizer to learn more.
