Michelle was raised in Long Island, New York and grew up with parents that prioritized health, wellness, and food. From a pretty young age Michelle learned the connection between food and health.

Michelle focused on Health and Women’s Studies at the University of Richmond, then received a Master’s in Education at the University of Bridgeport. Michelle has been involved in the restaurant business for 6 years, and the health industry since University.

In 2014 Michelle, with co-founder and longtime friend Fran Paniccia (puh-nee-cha) decided to enter a new venture, Organic Krush. With the goal of making organic, healthy food accessible, Fran and Michelle, with the help of Chef Jamese Tchinnis (Chinnys), opened the first Organic Krush. Today Michelle and Fran operate 8 Organic Krush locations throughout Long Island and Virginia.

In today’s episode, Michelle and I discuss the ins and outs of the restaurant industry, including common hidden ingredients. Michelle teaches how to choose the better choice option while eating out, and what to look for in grocery stores.
