For us to truly become the greatest version of ourselves, we must be able to hold space for our darkest parts. Most of us struggle with seeing those aspects of ourselves and we only feel safe going there when a partner/therapist holds space for us. This is recommended when you start your journey of self-awareness. But we can easily become dependent on others to hold space and struggle to build our own ability to be present.
